Announcing Joliet Blues Week! Six authentic blues shows, all in one week in Downtown Joliet, from August 10th to 18th. Friday, August 10th @ 7:30 p.m. TajMo: The Taj Mahal & Keb' Mo' Band Rialto Square Theatre TajMo: The Taj Mahal & Keb’ Mo’ Band brings to life the Grammy Award-winning collaboration between these two Blues titans in an exciting night of live music; performing songs from their long-anticipated collaborative album TajMo. Opening Act: Jontavious Willis. Saturday, August 11th from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. Joliet Blues Festival 2018 Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park & Theatre The inaugural Joliet Blues Festival opens with "Big Dog" Mercer at 4PM, followed by: The HepKats at 5:30 PM, Blues Victim at 7PM, Mike Wheeler Band 8:30PM, and Jamiah "Blues Superman" Rogers Band at 10PM. Wednesday, August 15th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Smiley Tillmon Band featuring Kate Moss Route 66 Street Market in Downtown Joliet Live music from The Smiley Tillmon Band will wind through the tents at the Joliet street market during Joliet Blue Week. After 55 years on the local blues scene, Tillmon serves up the blues and soul standards that people never seem to stop craving, his rich vocals and fluid guitar backed by a band that keeps his grooves tight and right. The market opens at 4 p.m. and the band will start around 6 p.m. Friday, August 17th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Hurricane Project Elder Brewing Co. Funky blues, jazz and R&B group featuring Al “Hurricane” Spears will be playing the brand new music room at Elder Brewing. Friday, August 17th at 9 p.m. The Ivy Ford Band Chicago Street Pub Music, Food, & Beer Ivy Ford, is one of the leading "youngbloods" of blues and brings a refreshing yet classic face to the music. She handles her cherry red, Epiphone-339 with as much confidence as any of the bluesmen today and can belt out notes to fill a room and serenade a phrase sweeter than sugar in ways that make anyone and everyone tune in to what she has to say. Ivy Ford, always respects the history and tradition of roots and blues music, while presenting it in a fresh, young and trendy way. Saturday, August 18th from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Blues & Brews on 66 Downtown Joliet on Chicago Street, between Jefferson & Cass Streets Don’t miss our third year of this exciting festival that embraces the history of blues in Joliet. Blues & Brews on 66 combines a blues fest with a craft beer fest. We will again feature live entertainment by multiple blues artists, cold brews, and food vendors. Admission to the blues fest is FREE. There is a cost for the craft beer tasting VIP area with proceeds benefiting the Joliet Park Foundation.
